When you think Japanese nostalgic cars it's easy to think of the Nissan and Datsun cars such as the 240Z, Skyline, and 510. Brian Karasawa chose a different route with a classic Toyota Celica. His passion for the Celica stayed with him since his youth. You know what they say, "The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys." The younger Brian Kawasa could only dream of having a set of Hayashi wheels, but now it gives his Celica that perfect vintage touch. Aside from paint, Brian restored this first gen Celica himself. Like any other project build, there was a lot of trial and error.
"The engine that's in here actually already blew up once. I broke a cam. And that was because I basically used the wrong bolt to hold the cam down." Brian eventually got his fully built 20R/22R hybrid engine running the way he wanted it. Personally I think it sounds amazing, but hear it for yourself on the video. What do you think of the Brian's build? Would you have gone with a different chassis? Let us know!
