2008 Subaru WRC Rally Car

This car looks promising.  It gives some insight to what the '08 STI will look like (or should look like).  Lets pray for something this agressive.  The rear end still looks like a crossover SUV, but at least it looks much better than the bland, base WRX.  Let's just hope the decision to match up against WRC's other hot hatches was a good call on Subaru's part.  Time will tell if the redesigned Impreza was a smart move for WRC or just a design blunder.  That's all I have for now, Subaru only released these photos and nothing more.  Enjoy.

1. I'm sorry, but I really don't like the new front end. Last year's looked far more agressive, but now its starting to look more and more like silly Japanese car... I'm disappointed. The Type 25 look was my favourite.

3. I don't know what you could possibly like about the 06-07 front end, almost every suby lifer I've talked to agree, that is the only blunder subaru has made in recent years. The new 09 STI (in the pics above) has a lot of WRC potential specifically with regaurds to weight, but it all depends on the suspension specs which have not been released yet. And when you compare it to that strange thing Mitsubishi calls the new Evo, It seems half a decade ahead of the curve. I guarantee Mitsu has a Evo hatch model for wrc in a few years. I am worried however about the fact that Subaru will probably use the same 2.5 ih combo. While it is definately possible to squeeze more reliable horse out of the 2.5, it would be nice to see a displacement increase as a bonus along with the vf34. As for the rear end I am still not a fan of it either nor the clear gay ass wanabee eurojap tuner tailights. The 05 STI was the last great one, a perfect blend of style and grace, I feel bad for people with 06-07 prop front ends and decreased

4. decreased horse albiet it's only 7hp or whatever but how does that make sense and how can you expect to win a manufacturer title by dropping powe, when the competition gets faster every year. Hopefully Fuji Heavy Ind. has got their heads out of their airplane inspired front ends and given us somethinng worthy of the STI lineage.
