What is going on here? It seems that with every new model, exterior styling is getting worse and worse. Take the iconic Subaru WRX. For 2008, we get this thing.
There is not much else I can say in this blog. I think it's hideous. The front looks like a cheap Ford, the rear looks like a Mazda SUV with BMW X3 C/D pillars (rear hatch glass). The fender flares are also gone. The intake manifold is plastic and the intercooler is shrinking, but they are still going with the same crappy, entry-level, Bridgestone tires. There will be a sedan, but word on the streets is that the US will be the only place to buy a one, but the STI will still be a hatch. The sedan will be just as bruised and battered from the savage beatings of the ugly stick. Look here. It's been a sad week for me.
All of a sudden, the new EVO is starting to look A LOT better (except for the auto tranny). The STI must be something completely wild in order to hold on to at least some buyers when it's finally released. Being a former Subaru fan, take this as my eulogy for the death of a great car, a car that did so much for our scene. Let's all take a moment of silence and mourn the senseless death of an icon, the Subaru Impreza.
