After slaving over a crappy job and living off top ramen for a couple years, you finally scrounge up enough money to buy a car of your own to modify. So why would you risk a 15-20 thousand dollar investment just to save a couple bucks?
When its time to buy parts, there is a dilemma - two similar parts, but one is for half the price. I understand not all of us can ball out of control and what not, but I can't see the logic here. Is saving a few hundred bucks worth playing craps with your engine? Who would be willing to gamble with $20,000 just for the chance to save $500?
I'm not trying to plug any aftermarket performance companies, but you really do get what you pay for. The reason parts cost so much are the research and development that go into ensuring that you get quality parts that yield real results and won't grenade your motor. Do you think Ebay specials and knock off parts are worth risking your pride and joy? Not me, only the best for my baby.
