Is anyone here tired of seeing Scions in magazines/websites?  I am.

It's like a Scion xA/xB/tC is in EVERY issue of EVERY mag.  Why?  It's the same stuff, over and over.  Widebody conversions, candy paint, neon lights, A/V rivaling the price of a down payment on a house.  It's ridiculous.  I think the attention needs to be paid more to the performance rather than the "looks".  Don't get me wrong--I like a nice set of wheels more than a fat kid loves cake.  But 95% of the dudes that have their Scions "built" are doing it just for show.  Didn't anyone out there read the article in SCC ("The Truth", Orange 350z, cover)?  Guess not.  Which gets me going on my next blog...do people even read the articles in the magazines?

1. Read? Nah. Just download the podcast version on my ipod (of course) and listen to it while driving in my neon-orange tC. :)

2. There is a reason why they are done for show and not for performance, well at lest the xb for sure. This car comes with around 95 horsepower stock, it is extremely slow. If you want a performance oriented car you dont get an xb. In my opinion, preformance mods for this car are a waste of time.

3. wells the scions its an okay car. I do like seeing them around but sometimes no. kinda tired seeing the xb around. its like boxes on stone wheels to me. I like the TC to me that looks something like the civic should look like but nahs they came out with that other style which is cool to but I like the tc better on looks and rather the 197 in the tc body. xa wells I look at that as a werid but cool okay looking car. but performance I rather fix up a EX sohc vtec than that. or some nissan or toyota. xA in my book is a poop car on performace. xb just stop making boxes... tc is cool

6. i have to agree performance is something that need look a comes second. hopefully these people dont try to race anyone in the streets.

7. I agree that performance is highly needed to be looked at, but if some one is going to modify the car for looks and show let it be just dont try to race any one in the streets. I hate when people due that has a nice looking car with a body kit and nice paint job but runs like *** and slow and pulls next to you that might have spend more funds into the engine than the look of your car. and then they get mad flick you off after u beat them

8. You don't even need any performance parts to beat those people. My friend pretty much humiliates them on a weekly basis with a stock mk II and 3 passengers.

9. well i have to say that i drive a very nice xA and i love it..i have been to alot of shows and i have gotten alot of praise for all the hard work i have put into my car..i fix my ride up to fit my personality, and to show off...i dont go for speed cause thats not me..i have alot of mods on my car, and i dont feel Scions are overrated they dont get hardly attention..but this is my opinion...

10. I will say hat each person has its opinion about every type of vehicle out there. Many say that the xb is a slow car with 95whp. Well it is true. But it doesnt mean that you have to keep it this way. There are mods out there to make them faster. Not all people with an xb have them just for showing. For instance I own an XB all show, but also go. It has been modified (Turbo'd)and has 162whp to the wheels. Now that is not bad for an xb with a 1.5 Engine. But on the other hand if you purchase the new xb you will have the ability to push some good power out of that TC engine. That motor has the potencial of bringing some good numbers and when I say that I am talking 300 plus whp. That is in the range of other type vehicles. So for all good luck with what you are building and remember this is all for fun and enjoyment.

I'm sorry to tell you all this but with the money that some of us have to burn and put into our Scions, you should really watch out because they are still developing a lot of the parts that are already available for your 98 Civics and hopped up little celicas. My tC has a complete forged block and all the internals, a greddy turbo that runs at 12 psi, a greddy ti-c exhaust, fuel managment unit, magnaflow catalytic, torque dampers, cam gears, cams, stainless down pipe, stage 3 clutch, limited slip diff, trd quick shifter, underdrive pulleys, light weight flywheel, and performance fuel pump. I am pushing almost 800 horse and have not even thought about telling you what kind of suspension mods I have because I don't want to make this insert to long. But lets just say that I have yet to find another car that has as much performance as me, that handles as nice as mine, or looks even remotely as sexy as mine does. So for you Scion haters out there, remeber that not all of us are just in it to look like we belon

Some of us do belong to this scene and some people think that because they have a lot of one thing and not of the others they belong, when really they are just taking up the space that belongs to the total package cars. So in some way I agree that there are to many want a be Scions in the mags but there are also to many people doing the same old thing when I see these 240SXs and older Civics and Del Sols in there when this is the 21st century and those cars are 10 to 15 years old. Get something new already we are not in the stone age any more.

15. I most def agree. A square box is not unique. *** scions that are nothing but eye candy. My 1992 Toyota Tercel is nt the most beautiful car but ive modded the enginr, tranny, exhaust and suspension and a few exterior mods. i love my whip and wouldnt trade it 4 any Scion even those outragously bi=uilt " beauties" Yeah right! Ugly if u ask me
